6 Steps to Celebrate Your Website Launch

We expect confetti to rain down and unicorns to sail across the screen when we finally get that website up and running but it isn’t quite like that.

Typically, your website designer simply sends you an email saying, it’s live! And then you’re off on your merry way with no one even knowing it happened. For most folks (who don’t work with me on a Dharma Day cause that’s a different story), they’ve put so much time and energy into their website stretched across weeks, months even, that they’re ready to have some mental space freed up.

Let’s change that shall we?!

I want you to experience the full excitement of this big milestone and feel that confetti rain down with disco ball sparkles all around.

Disco Ball Hanging on a Sunny Day

Here are 6 steps to follow that will ensure you properly celebrate this big moment in your business…

one

Build excitement and intrigue.

Before you launch, share some snippits and previews on social media. This will get your people curious about what you’re up and folks love seeing the process, not just the end result. You could even prompt people to send you their email address to be the first to know when it launches and then add them to your email list.

two

Test the website.

It’s important to do a final run through checking for any typos or broken links before showcasing it to the world. I’m sure your friend will let you know if there’s a mistake but in an effort to look professional, it’s good to do as much as you can to catch them yourself. You can also ask a few folks to review it before the launch in case they catch anything you didn’t see.

Pause and trust yourself

It can be tough to finally launch. You might feel like you want to change this or that little thing. That will happen later. What’s most important is that you launch your site and get your work out into the world. Trust that you’ve done everything you can to make it awesome in this moment. It will evolve with time!

Three

Write an email to your community.

If you have an email list for your business then you’ll use that and share the big news with them. If you’re just starting out then collect a list of people who you want to share this milestone with in a spreadsheet. Talk to them about what you just accomplished and invite them to check it out, reach out about your offerings, purchase a product, or share it with someone in their life who might benefit from your work.

Four

Post on social media.

People want to support you and celebrate with you…let them! You can ask your designer to create some launch graphics for you or Canva has some templates to use for posting. Use the social media platform(s) where your community is. You can use Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, or a combination of them to spread the word. Don’t just post on your business page either, share it on your personal page too. Let your people celebrate with you!

Five

Collaborate with avid supporters to amplify the excitement.

Think about the people in your corner as your cheering squad and let them share the celebration too. If you post on Instagram, make it a collaborative post with your designer (if you used one) or ask your friends to share your post on their stories or feeds too. Again, your folks really want to support you so make it easy for them to do just that by being specific with your direction.

Six

Treat yourself.

You just launched your website! This step isn’t something to do but rather to support you in BEing fully in this celebratory moment. Take yourself out to dinner or lunch, pop some bubbly, buy yourself a coffee, you could even just make a cup of tea and sit on the couch to rest after all that hard work.

I can see the confetti from here! If you follow these simple steps, I know you’ll feel it too.

And if you’re still in the space of even creating your website, then reach out - I’d love to support you in aligning your purpose with your digital presence!
