Crafting a Clear Brand Vision
As a passionate entrepreneur, it’s easy to get caught up in the “doing” within what we’re creating. For me, this looks like working with my clients and on client projects - it’s where I feel the most flow and why I started this venture in the first place!
But I also know that working in my business is not the same as working on my business and that’s what I’m being called to do more of lately. I’m doing what I can, when I can, to create systems that support the growth and evolution of this dream.
I’ve been working with a business coach, and she recommended that I read The E-Myth by Michael Gerber (which I highly recommend) and a question it posed stopped me in my tracks…
What is your primary aim in what you’re creating? When the business is all done, what will it look like?
I honestly had never even thought about it! I built The Dharma Collective so that I could serve my ideal client directly and experience more freedom but I’d never thought about what it would be like once it was “all done” - in its final form so to speak.
Once I answered those questions, I got so much clarity and direction in terms of what I had to do and why I was doing it. It helped me get crystal clear on the purpose behind working on the business.
Can you relate? I encourage you to take that bird’s eye view and think about what your business will look like 5, 10, or 15 years down the road. Let that vision drive you forward and remind you daily of why working on your business is equally important (if not more) than just working in it.
